What to wear and bring to a hamam
Bring swimwear, a change of clean clothes and a hairbrush or comb. You wear your swimwear throughout the Turkish bath, and a towel and a peştemal — the flat-woven cotton wrap — are provided at the hamam, along with use of its facilities.

What to wear
Swimwear, from start to finish. Guests are not naked in the hamam: a swimsuit, bikini or swim shorts is what everyone wears for the sauna, the steam room, the kese, the foam and the massage. A peştemal is provided to wrap around you as well.
Your packing list
- Swimwear — ideally something you do not mind getting soapy.
- A change of clean clothes for the ride back.
- A hairbrush or comb.
- Anything personal you need afterwards, such as moisturiser or hair ties.
What the hamam provides
- A towel.
- A peştemal to wear.
- Use of the hamam facilities, including somewhere to change and leave your belongings.
You do not need to bring a towel, soap or a kese mitt: the scrub and the foam are done for you.
What to leave at the hotel
Anything valuable you will not need. You will spend most of the visit in swimwear, so keep what you carry to a minimum.
Before you leave the hotel
- Eat only a light meal and do not drink alcohol before your session.
- Be ready at your hotel at the confirmed pickup time.
- If you have a medical condition, read the health and safety notes first.
